Peter Washington, DuSable Conference Co-Chair

Finance, Accounting, and Strategic Management

Peter Washington serves an AAMBAA Co-Chair with a direct responsibility of coordinating the 24th Annual DuSable Conference, AAMBAA’s signature event. The DuSable Conference is one of the most anticipated events for current and alumni members of the AAMBAA organization.

In addition to Peter’s AABMAA responsibilities, he also serves as a Co-Chair of the Distressed Investing & Restructuring Group (“DIRG”), which is an organization founded to promote career opportunities within the distressed investments, turnaround, and restructuring industries.

During the summer of 2008, Peter worked as a summer associate at Comerica Securities, focusing on middle market clients and transactions. Peter plans to leverage his previous experience to pursue a full time career in investment banking upon graduation.

Peter graduated magna cum laude from Florida A&M University with a bachelors of science in business administration. Peter is an active alumni and mentors several undergrad students who are pursuing careers in finance.

Ayanna Louis Charles, DuSable Conference Co-Chair / AAMBAA, Corporate Relations Co-Chair

Finance, Economics, and International Business

Prior to attending Chicago GSB, Ayanna graduated from Williams College, with a BA in Economics. She moved to Chicago after graduation where she worked at The Bank of New York as a Relationship Manager in the Municipal Group of the Corporate Trust Department.

At Chicago GSB Ayanna is a Toigo Foundation and Maynard Jackson Fellow. In addition to working on the DuSable Committee, she is the Corporate Relations Co-Chair for AAMBAA and an active member in the Financial Analysis & Treasury Group, the Chicago Women in Business Group, the Investment Banking Group and the Chicago Global Citizens Group. This summer Ayanna worked for Lehman Brothers in Public Finance within the Capital Markets Division.

Kia Coleman, DuSable Conference Co-Chair

Finance, Economics, and International Business

Kia graduated from Wesleyan University, in Middletown, CT, with a BA in English. Prior to attending the GSB she worked first as Director of Business Operations and then Director of Business Development for Friedrich, Klatt and Associates, an IT Consulting Firm.

In addition to serving as the Marketing and Entertainment Co-Chair for DuSable, Kia is also co-chair for the Investment Management Group and the Christian Business Students Association, and is co-producer for Follies. She is also a member of the Media and Entertainment Group. This summer Kia worked at 20th Century Fox in the International Theatrical Division.
