Business School Cohort Intramural Tournament:

AKA: BSCIT

Goals of BSCIT:

The goals of the BSCIT are threefold:

  1. Provide an infrastructure to nurture the friendships developed during LEAD;
  2. Bring 1st and 2nd years closer than at any other business school; and
  3. Dispel that nasty rumor that U of C is the place where fun went to die; it might be true for the undergrads, but not true at GSB.

BSCIT Fall Recap:

Well, with the Fall Quarter coming to an end and Flip Cup now behind us, the time seemed ripe to gain some insights into the first and second years' ongoing experience with BSCIT.  Indeed, the first years in particular came out of the gates with an incredibly strong start at LOE, but could they keep the momentum going 'til week 10?  And were the rumors of their enthusiasm for all things BSCIT, especially as it related to Flip Cup and the midnight practice sessions, in fact, a reality?  Who best to answer these questions and more than your very own first year social reps.  Click here to read the firsthand accounts on what their respective cohort went through over the past few months - the good, the bad, the ugly, the funny and the downright bizarre!

So, to my fellow social reps, a great big thank you for your input and ongoing help with organizing all these BSCIT events! While it's clear to me that Bond will do just about anything to squeeze back into their leather slacks for a shot at winning more BSCIT points (and you will have that chance – be on the lookout for GSB’s Got Talent!), Nobels are shady characters not to be trusted around the ticket bowl – to the other cohorts, keep a wary eye on those guys!

And to Brian, while I’m sure Hail Marys won’t hurt Phoenix' performance, I’m afraid that your attack on Schaefer's performance at Flip Cup, while definitely warranted, will likely be quite costly to you – the man’s memory is long, he is fully equipped to deal with heckling and loves to hit back with everything he's got. I will start praying for you now (and hope you do to!) that he doesn't read or hear about how his shameful flip-cupping abilities have been exposed to the world! On the upside though, he and Zach Bornemeier were delightful MCs for the evening, so we’re thankful that Phoenix took the hit in exchange for the opportunity to appreciate their witty remarks.

Well, although I could keep going with this commentary, I don't want to make it longer than it needs to be. Suffice to say that all cohorts had great stories to relate and will surely have more to talk about in the months to come. In closing, I'd like to thank you all for your ongoing participation in BSCIT events, and would particularly like to tip my hat off to all the Second Years who came out and put on a strong showing during Flip Cup. I hope all of you will be able to make it to our next must-attend BSCIT event, Frosty Frolics (click here for details)!!!

Your friendly neighborhood Socialite,
Isabelle Jetté
