Community Relations:

Committees:

Cold Call Parties:

  • Organize and promote dinners for 1st year and 2nd year attendees hosted by 2nd year students in their homes during the Fall Quarter;
  • Arrange catering, locations, and transportation to Cold Call Parties;
  • Assist with updating best practice documentation to ensure smooth transition of future GBC Social Chair and committee members.

Culture Club:

  • Plan and promote events and activities to build awareness and appreciation of culture and diversity on campus;
  • Organize the Annual Thanksgiving Dinner and quarterly cultural events;
  • Work with the LPF committee and cultural student groups to develop cultural-themed LPFs.

Business School Cohort Intramural Tournament:

  • Promote BSCIT, an extension of the academic platform provided by LEAD into a co-curricular, community-building vehicle. Cohorts participate against each other in a series of social, competitive events. 
  • Lead a BSCIT committee of 20 members charged with generating and implementing event ideas.
  • Organize, promote and facilitate 3 BSCIT events per quarter;
  • Organize and promote Awards Ceremony;
  • Select venue, menu/music/bus company/special events as necessary;
  • Oversee all budgetary considerations with respect to BSCIT;
  • Develop best practice documentation.

Exchange Student Committee:

  • Responsible for the social integration of incoming Exchange Students each quarter;
  • Coordinate with the Office of International Programs (OIP) to provide assistance and information to incoming Exchange Students to ease their transition to Chicago and the GSB;
  • Manage the OIP Exchange Student Buddy Program, in conjunction with OIP;
  • Members serve as a buddy to an Exchange Student for a minimum of one quarter;
  • Plan and attend multiple social events each quarter for Exchange Students.

International Students Committee:

  • Address issues and concerns faced by the international student community at the GSB;
  • Coordinate with and support the Admissions Office to assist admitted international students with their decision process;
  • Maintain the International Student Buddy Program to provide mentoring and assistance to international students throughout their move to Chicago;
  • Plan and promot international cultural events in conjunction with the Culture Club;
  • Work with Career Services to address international student issues and concerns surrounding employment opportunities inside and out of the United States;
  • Support DMAC in promoting the GSB internationally.
