Distinguished Speaker Series:
- Arrange for CEOs, CFOs, as well as other corporate, organizational
and government leaders to speak to the GSB community on
topics of leadership, governance, motivation and their
industry. In order to encourage the invitees to speak at
the GSB the committee utilizes the full leverage and power
of the GSB Community.
- Coordinate all logistical details on campus in preparation
for the guest, including marketing, advertising, coordination
with DSO, Corporate Relations, Dean's Office etc
- Liaison with other schools and departments at the University
of Chicago to increase attendance.
Liquidity Preference Function:
- Plan logistics for weekly LPFs including theme, food,
beverage, entertainment/facilities, and day of event help;
- Work to secure funding; work with sponsor to ensure sponsorship
commitment is worth their time and money;
- Generate ideas to make LPFs appeal to a wider range of
individuals;
- Assist with continued development of a best practices
document to assist with future LPFs;
- Assist with evaluation of new catering relationships.
Career Committee:
- Organize and hold ongoing meetings with Career Services
Office ("CSO") to coordinate efforts between
GBC and CSO;
- Work on new initiatives with CSO to improve student professional
development;
- Organize the "Hookup with a 2nd Year" events;
- Coordinate efforts with CSO and students groups to hold
career fairs and other professional development events;
- Act as a platform for student ideas on professional development
and the CSO.
