Is It Difficult To Get a Job In Investment Management?
It depends on what you mean by difficult. Certainly, a lot fewer GSB students take jobs in investment management than in investment banking or consulting. Nonetheless, the odds remain excellent for those students who are motivated, focused, and well prepared.

For example, last year the IMG had about 220 members and placed over 190 into research, sales, trading, and PCS positions (both full-time and intern). Chicago graduates are the most sought after by investment management recruiters. The fact is that virtually every GSB student who wants an investment management job will get one, if they are focused and prepare for the interview. There is no better way to prepare than by being active in the IMG!
