Investment Management Recommended Reading

STOCK AND INDUSTRY RESEARCH:

Yahoo Finance and MSN Money – good, free resources for initial stock research and screens. However, their financial data and ratios are sometimes inaccurate. When digging into a stock, get your data directly from the filings and calculate your own ratios and valuation metrics.

Morningstar is a good resource for stock and mutual fund research; the premium membership is probably worth it. www.morningstar.com.

Investext – sell side reports. Directions for access are on the CRC website.

Standard and Poor's – the primary source for industry reports. (Also available on the CRC website, along with Factiva, Lexis Nexis, OneSource, and Hoovers)

Value Line – high-quality stock research. Print copies are available at the Regenstein Library on 57th and University (although they are not great at keeping the files up to date and organized).

Bloomberg – one terminal is available in the HPC basement computer lab. This is the source for in depth data on equities, fixed, macro, hedge funds, etc.
